The Legacy of Nuremberg

A conference on the legacy of the 1945 Nuremberg Trials of Nazi war criminals took place on April 27-28 in Berkeley. Scholars discussed the legal precedents established by the trials, including the formation of a permanent international court. The event opened with the film “Nuremberg: Its Lesson for Today” and closed with a lecture by Canadian Supreme Court Justice Rosalie Abella, who was born in a displaced persons camp. The event was co-sponsored by the Berkeley Institute for Jewish Law and Israel Studies.
