Our Law Students of African Descent (LSAD) chapter recently teamed with several other student organizations and the Career Development Office to hold Diversity Placement Night. This powerful collaboration for many first-generation UC Berkeley Law students and those from underrepresented backgrounds brought together more than 120 1Ls and 30 leading firms for networking and one-on-one mock interviews, providing invaluable experience and connections. LSAD is committed to ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed, and to building a more inclusive legal future for everyone.
“Imagine navigating the competitive legal world without any prior connections. That’s the reality for many first-gen law students and those from underrepresented backgrounds. Driven by our commitment to equity and inclusion, the Law Students of African Descent (LSAD) partnered with La Alianza, NALSA, Queer Caucus, MENALSA, APALSA, JSABL, and the Career Development Office to host the largest Diversity Placement Night ever. This powerful collaboration brought together 120+ first-year law students and 30 leading firms for an evening of networking and 1:1 mock interviews, providing invaluable experience and connections. LSAD is committed to leveling the playing field and ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed. Ultimately, Diversity Placement Night is just one example of the many initiatives student leaders on campus are spearheading to build a more inclusive legal future for all. Huge thanks to all our partners – the incredible student organizations, the participating law firms, and Berkeley Law’s Career Development Office!” – LSAD Diversity Placement Night Committee
