We are not currently accepting individual representation or direct service matters. Sorry!
No. Clinics are primarily focused on providing law students with opportunities to learn through supervised practice of law. Our center is thrilled to include students in most of our projects but we are not a clinic. Our projects include interdisciplinary research, education and speaker series both for students and the community, as well as litigation and policy advocacy work.
You can reach out to us by emailing cljc@berkeley.edu. We welcome inquiries, collaborations, and partnerships with organizations, individuals, and institutions that share our mission.
Our mandate is broad enough to encompass any issue in the criminal legal space. We take on specific issues and causes on a rolling basis subject to capacity limitations and with an emphasis on areas where we can add unique value to achieve outsized impact.
As part of an educational institution, the Center does not directly engage in lobbying. The Center does provide technical assistance, direct client representation, and research to support policy improvements.
