The LL.M. Certificate of Specialization in AI Law and Regulation provides an industry-endorsed foundation in AI focused on building core skills and knowledge in areas including intellectual property, data privacy, licensing, and risk. This certificate, the first of its kind, has been specifically designed for the LL.M. executive track to allow busy professionals to grapple with the real-time legal issues introduced by artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.
Program Requirements
To qualify for the LL.M. Executive Track AI Law and Regulation certificate, a student must complete a total of 11 units from courses offered in 2024 and 2025.

- Copyright Law (3 units)
- Cybersecurity in Context: Technology, Policy, and Law (3 units)
- Cybersecurity Law Fundamentals (1 unit)
- Fundamentals of AI Technology (2 units)
- Global Regulation of AI (1 unit)
- Hot Topics in GenAI (1 unit)
- Information Privacy Law (3 units)
- The Law and Governance of Artificial Intelligence (3
units) - Making AI Work for the People (1 unit)
- Pro-Innovation Risk Analysis for Lawyers (1 unit)
- Trust and Safety (1 unit)
- Video Game Law (1 unit)

Deadlines
There are two review deadlines for the LL.M. Executive Track AI Law and Regulation Certificate:
Wednesday, July 8, 2025 (Summer Graduates)
Friday, December 5, 2025 (December Graduates)
Applications will be reviewed on these two dates, and not on a rolling basis. These dates are to accommodate those students who graduate at different times of the year.
