The Criminal Law Ethics Seminar is a two-unit graded class that explores legal ethics issues from a criminal law perspective. The Seminar provides students with an opportunity to explore professional responsibility topics and to work on simulations and presentations related to criminal law. The course is not intended to be an MPRE-prep course. Students doing criminal field placements must take this Seminar (which fulfills the Professional Responsibility requirement) or the 1-unit Field Placement Workshop (which does not fulfill the Professional Responsibility requirement). The Seminar is open to 2L, 3L, and LLM students who have participated in a criminal law-related experiential learning opportunity - summer internship, SLPS/Pro Bono Project, law school clinic, etc. For questions about eligibility and course coverage, please contact Sue Schechter, Field Placement Director, sschechter@law.berkeley.edu. To schedule an advising appointment, go to sschechter.youcanbook.me. The first class meeting will be on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.

The class will meet on Tuesday evenings throughout the semester. This course is not by Application.
