This course will provide an overview of venture capital funds. We will cover (1) the U.S. legal and regulatory landscape that impacts funds, their managers, and their investors; (2) the basic structures of funds, including the relationship between the fund, its general partner (GP), the management company, and the various types of limited partners (LPs) that invest in funds; and (3) offering documents and key fund terms.
It is strongly recommended that you have taken the following courses before enrolling in this course:
