This course focuses on women’s leadership in the law. We will study paths toward leadership for women in the legal profession, as well as challenges to leadership for women lawyers. Readings will cover a range of subjects related to women's leadership in various fields of the legal profession, and class meetings will feature guest speakers who are leaders in their fields of the law and will include discussion among class members.

Enrollment is limited. To be considered for enrollment in the course, please submit a short statement (no more than 300 words) explaining your interest in the course, including any perspectives you would bring to the course and what you hope to get out of the course. Please include your application statement in the text of an email (not as an attachment), and send with the subject line "Women's Leadership Application - [your name]" to smohamed@law.berkeley.edu by 5pm on Nov. 11, 2022.


Attendance at the first class is mandatory for all currently enrolled and waitlisted students; any currently enrolled or waitlisted students who are not present on the first day of class (without prior permission of the instructor) will be dropped. The instructor will continue to take attendance throughout the add/drop period and anyone who moves off the waitlist into the class must continue to attend or have prior permission of the instructor in order not to be dropped.
