The course is designed to facilitate the review and drafting of contracts for commercial transactions and to enhance students’ understanding of contract law. We will focus on style and usage, drafting techniques, and the principles of effective drafting. We will complete exercises designed to sharpen our ability to review and draft effective business documents.

This course will have 7 class meetings. To allow for a makeup class because of unforeseen circumstances this course has an automatic make-up class scheduled for the 8th week. Students must be able to attend all 8 scheduled meetings to earn credit.

Attendance at the first class is mandatory for all currently enrolled and waitlisted students; any currently enrolled or waitlisted students who are not present on the first day of class (without prior permission of the instructor) will be dropped. The instructor will continue to take attendance throughout the add/drop period and anyone who moves off the waitlist into the class must continue to attend or have prior permission of the instructor in order not to be dropped.
