Jeffrey Lewis is a partner at Keller Rohrback L.L.P. Previously he was a founder of, shareholder in, and managing attorney of Lewis, Feinberg, Lee, Renaker & Jackson, P.C. He has specialized in ERISA and pension and employee benefit law litigation, primarily on behalf of plaintiff employees, retirees, and disabled individuals since 1975. Mr. Lewis also serves as a Mediator for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and privately. Outside of the law firm, he has served since 2003 as a member of the Retirement Board of the Alameda-Contra Costa County Transit District Employees’ Retirement Plan (to which he was appointed as a representative of the public and of which he presently serves as Chair). He also serves as a member of the Plan Committee of the Retirees of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company Health Care Trust which delivers health care to more than 20,000 retired Goodyear workers and their families.
Mr. Lewis’ legal work involves a broad spectrum of employee benefit questions, including fiduciary standards, benefit entitlement, reporting, and disclosure requirements, plan terminations, preemption, and other ERISA and related labor law and state law issues. He and his current and prior firms have litigated ERISA actions in federal courts throughout the country. Mr. Lewis has also advised fiduciaries, employers, and unions on an ongoing basis with regard to employee benefit plans and issues.
Mr. Lewis served for many years as one of the co-chairs (editors in chief) of the Board of Senior Editors of Employee Benefits Law, the employee benefit law treatise authored by the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Section.
