Local Economies and Entrepreneurship Project

The Local Economies and Entrepreneurship Project (LEEP) partners with the Sustainable Economies Law Center (SELC) to assist social enterprise, nonprofit, and cooperative clients working to create economic opportunity in their communities. LEEP aims to unite a community of students interested in local community resilience and grassroots economic empowerment.

Students will have the opportunity to learn about exciting issues at the intersection of community resiliency and law. In conjunction with SELC attorneys, LEEP participants will perform legal intakes and offer assistance to a variety of clients, including urban farms, time banks, small businesses, and social enterprises. Students will also conduct research on discrete topics and present at legal workshops in the Bay Area supporting worker cooperatives and food enterprises.

For more information, please contact the student leaders at BerkeleyLEEP@gmail.com.
