Meaningful dialogue with people with whom we disagree is challenging. The ability to communicate productively across differences can transform your law school experience and more. Thanks to a grant from the Chancellor’s office, in early 2025 BJI will be able to offer its first in-person Berkeley Law only version of the very successful Effective Communication Across Differences (“ECAD”) program, a hands-on small group program, designed for students across a broad spectrum of viewpoints, that will help you hone your skills in engaging in meaningful and respectful conversations.
Join a discussion with Berkeley Judicial Institute’s Robyn Lipsky and Denise Neary if you are:
- a Berkeley law student. We’d love to know what you’d like to see included for the in-person program to help you navigate difficult conversations productively.
- an ECAD graduate. Tell us what worked best and what was less effective
- Berkeley faculty/administrators. What would support you and/or your students in respectfully navigating differences?
- an interested observer. Tell us times when your own needle has moved on effective communication strategies…something you’ve seen, read, heard.
We welcome your ideas!
