[BJIL Lunch Talk] Opportunities and Challenges for U.S. Lawyers in the British Overseas Territories

Wednesday, January 24, 2024 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Ever wondering about an international law career in the British Overseas Territories? Ms. Ruth Barber, a UK-qualified lawyer specializing in criminal/regulatory law and trial advocacy, is visiting Berkeley Law this week. She has spent the last three years working in the British Overseas Territory of Saint Helena – a tropical island in the South Atlantic Ocean. Come hear Ms. Barber sharing her works and life on the Island, how these differ from her practice in the UK, and the potential opportunities available for Common Law qualified lawyers/U.S. lawyers in the future, with Q&A.

This event will be in-person on 1/24 Wednesday, 1-2 p.m. in Room 134. Lunch will be provided on a first come first serve basis. Please RSVP to ensure there is enough food for everyone.
