About the Film: “How We Get Free”

This powerful documentary follows Elisabeth Epps over two years as she works tirelessly to abolish cash bail in Colorado and end the criminalization of poverty. The film offers an intimate look at Epps’ journey:

  • The founding and operation of the Colorado Freedom Fund, part of a network of over 100 community bail funds nationwide
  • Her grassroots activism, including literally bailing people out of jail
