Tuesday, August 20, 2024 @ 12:50 pm - 2:00 pm
Event Navigation
Concerned about companies reporting record profits after jacking up the price of everyday goods and services? Troubled by predatory lenders taking advantage of low-income communities of color? Want to learn more about the intersection of economic justice, social justice, and racial justice? Want to stop abuses by companies like Equifax, Wells Fargo, Corinthian Colleges, Volkswagen, opioid manufacturers, data aggregators, student loan servicers, unscrupulous landlords, and robo-callers? Come learn about consumer law — the one area of law that gives you the tools to research and do something about all of this — and hear how you can get involved in working for economic justice in the courts, before regulatory agencies, and in Congress and state legislatures. (Or how you can counsel your future clients to avoid problems like these in the first place.)
New students (1Ls, 2L transfer students, and LLM students) and returning students all welcome!
Please note the updated date and location! This event will now be held on Tues, 8/20 in Room 170!
Lunch provided! RSVP by noon on 8/19!
Events are wheelchair accessible. For disability-related accommodations, contact the organizer of the event. Advance notice is kindly requested.
