Community Conversation on Prisoners’ Rights & Abolition at East Bay Community Law Center
Thursday, September 5, 2024 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Join East Bay Community Law Center (EBCLC) staff and community members for a conversation on Prisoners’ Rights and Abolition with Dorsey Nunn, former executive director for Legal Services for Prisoners with Children and cofounder of All of Us or None, moderated by former San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin, who now serves as executive director of UC Berkeley’s Law & Justice Center, and Azadeh Zohrabi, executive director of UC Berkeley’s Underground Scholars Program. Together, they’ll discuss Nunn’s journey as a leading organizer for prisoners’ rights and consider the landscape of today’s fight for the rights and equitable reentry of currently and formerly incarcerated people.
Nunn’s new memoir, What Kind of Bird Can’t Fly: A Memoir of Resilience and Resurrection, will be available for sale by Marcus Books at the event, with a book signing to follow the conversation and audience Q&A.
Please RSVP at: https://bit.ly/3zeR9EZ. Additional event details are laid out on the Eventbrite.
Look forward to seeing you there!
The panel discussion will take place in the outdoor courtyard of EBCLC’s Adeline office: 2921 Adeline Street, Berkeley, CA 94703
