Tuesday, November 19, 2024 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Event Navigation
Climate change poses significant risks to California’s communities, economy, and infrastructure. While climate adaptation and resilience efforts are expensive, the costs of inaction are far higher. California’s adaptation funding portfolio is well-positioned to support critical resilience-building efforts, but it faces challenges related to program oversubscription, funding instability, and landscape complexity, which limit effective implementation. Join us for a discussion of CLEE’s new report, Bridging the Implementation Gap: Challenges and Opportunities in California’s Resilience Funding Landscape, which builds on our previous work evaluating two State funding programs. We will discuss findings from a preliminary analysis of the funding landscape as well as key opportunities for the State to strategically utilize its available funds and strengthen its approach to supporting resilience.
