Berkeley Boosts | Conversations on Civil Justice: Mass Torts Bankruptcies
Friday, February 28, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Event Navigation
Defendants in mass torts are increasingly filing for bankruptcy, raising significant concerns for plaintiffs who had expected to resolve their claims via traditional litigation methods. Why are bankruptcy cases involving mass torts sometimes controversial? How do proceedings in bankruptcy cases impact those with claims involving mass torts? What have we seen in the past in these proceedings and what can we expect in the future? Please join us for an overview and discussion of the issues with The Honorable William J. Lafferty, III, Bankruptcy Judge in the Northern District of California, Professor Andrew Bradt of Berkeley Law and Leslie A. Brueckner of Singleton Schreiber. MCLE offered.
The Conversations on Civil Justice Series is supported by a gift from the AAJ’s Robert L. Habush Endowment.
