On April 3, 2018, the Korea Law Center hosted a conversation with Congressman Tae Sup Keum from South Korea. Keum was one of the key drafters of the impeachment bill in 2016 and took part in the “Candlelight Revolution” that brought the world’s attention to South Korea’s political change. Prior to the National Assembly, Keum served as a prosecutor of the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office for 12 years. Congressman Keum shared his insights into Korea’s political, social, and judicial activism and the impeachment process – under what conditions it was possible, how it was made with such little precedent, and what it means for Korea’s future.
