First Generation Professionals is a new student organization at Berkeley Law that cuts across race and gender and is born from the common needs of law students from working-class backgrounds who are often the first members of their family to obtain higher education. We are looking to recruit alums who identify as first-generation professionals and who are working in all different sectors of the market. If you are interested and would like more information, please contact Eric Stern in the Career Development Office at estern@law.berkeley.edu.
Public Interest and Government Employees, twice each year, usually in January and in April, the Career Development Office offers mock interviews to help public service-minded students in their job search campaigns. Volunteer interviewers, preferably in the bay area but also out of area but able to participate by Skype, are in demand. Please email Alexander Lee at the CDO at alee@law.berkeley.edu, or call him directly at (510) 643-4779.

The trainings cover subjects from estate planning to housing law to fighting traffic cases. They are a great way to expand one’s practice and knowledge, as well as network and meet other attorneys. See the ALRP events calendar – http://www.alrp.org/events – for details and to sign up.
