Panelist Bios:
David L. Alexander,
’73, Port Attorney, Port of Oakland.
David L. Alexander was appointed Port Attorney by the Board
on May 15, 1996. Mr. Alexander is the Port’s chief legal officer, with
responsibility to provide all advice to the Board, its officers and employees
relating to the wide range of legal affairs that arise in the conduct of the
Port’s business. Prior to his appointment as Port Attorney, Mr. Alexander was a
partner in the Oakland law firm of Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean for four
years, and managing partner of Alexander, Millner & McGee and of Alexander
& Associates from 1978 to 1992, with additional private practice experience
prior thereto.
Robert
Schlossman, ’96, Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, Aptina Imaging.
Robert Schlossman is
responsible for worldwide legal matters including corporate governance,
compliance, securities, intellectual property, licensing, litigation, and
employment. Prior to Aptina, he served as the Senior Vice President, General
Counsel and Secretary for Extreme Networks, Inc. where he oversaw worldwide
legal matters. Prior to Extreme Networks, Robert served as Senior Vice
president, General Counsel and Secretary for Network General Corporation,
acquired by NetScout Systems, Inc. He also worked in senior level legal
positions for Ciena Corporation and ONI Systems Corp.
Michelle Watts, ’04,
Legal and Public Policy Recruiting, Google Inc.
Michelle Watts is a member of the Legal and Public Policy
Recruiting Team at Google. She sources and works with top legal and public
policy talent throughout the country to fill the company’s growing Legal and
Public Policy Departments. Prior to working at Google, Michelle served as
Business Development Director at Special Counsel. She is a former practicing attorney and has
worked as an associate at multiple AmLaw 100 law firms including Pillsbury
Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP and Manatt Phelps & Phillips, LLP.
Yanira Wong, ’99,
Senior Legal Director, Yahoo! Inc.
Yanira specializes in corporate governance and securities
matters at Yahoo! She works closely with the Board of Directors and the
Corporate Secretary. Prior to Yahoo! she was Associate Counsel at Calpine
Corporation, an energy company, following associate positions at the law firms
of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt &
Mosle in New York City. Yanira serves on the Board of Directors of
Habitot Children’s Museum, a Berkeley non-profit focusing on early childhood
development.
