Berkeley Alumni-in-Residence Program (BAIR)

The Berkeley-Alumni-in-Residence (BAIR) program is designed to ensure that our Berkeley Law students learn that they are part of a much larger community of over 20,000 Berkeley Law alumni. The program includes opportunities to engage with alumni, starting when students have been admitted to Berkeley Law, and with staff in the Alumni Engagement Office.  The Alumni Admissions Outreach Program links admitted students with graduates, giving alumni the opportunity to connect with our newest potential students, answering any questions they might have, and talking to them about their experiences when they were students and their paths as alumni, post law school. The Alumni Guide Program was launched in 2020 and pairs incoming 1L students with alumni who can help with their transition to law school.  The Alumni Mentoring Programs offer students mentoring opportunities with alumni. One group of alumni volunteers mentor rising 2Ls preparing for interviews with law firms, including plaintiff-side firms, during Organized Campus Interviews (OCI) over the summer. Another group of graduates coaches incoming 1L students who are beginning their search for employment in the public sector (nonprofit orgs, government, NGOs, etc.).We also run a mentoring program for alumni and students who are part of the Law Students of African Descent group.
